Easy Candy Monsters – The Easiest Halloween Recipe. Ever.

Easy Candy Halloween Monsters

Here are some amazing ideas from Jillian Warner of Hello Splendid when it comes to making some easy Halloween Recipes for the kids.

Halloween is almost here!  Are you tired of seeing pumpkin spice everything under the sun?  I know I am.  And I also know that as much as I love being crafty, there will be no haunted gingerbread house painstakingly baked and constructed in my home this year.  I can hear a friend of mine right now saying “ain’t nobody got time for that!”  So I am here to show you a couple of super easy tricks that look awesome and don’t require you to obsess in your kitchen for extended periods of time.  Sound good?

If you’re like me, then you are maybe a little overprotective when it comes to sugary sweets but also want your child to enjoy this holiday and not feel left out.  I think the lesson I’ve learned recently is that you can give a child a candy bar and have it be just another piece of candy or you can give them something special and have it be a meaningful treat that they will remember.

So I set out to do just that this Halloween.  The fact of the matter is, I won’t let Kayla keep all of her candy.  It will slowly, miraculously disappear.  I will however be making these easy candy monsters for her which use Fun Size candy bars like Snickers and have a goofy and spooky look that is just perfect for a child her age.

When I picked up our Halloween candy at Walmart I found these little candy decorations in the cake decorating section.  When I say it, you’ll realize that these shapes were meant to create turkey faces and feathers for Thanksgiving…and they will.  BUT they are also great for creating monsters, you just have to use your imagination.  I simply pushed the little shapes into the Snickers bars and arranged them on a plate.

And there you have it!  I guess I could have spent hours rolling cake pops and sweating over wrapping them in mummy-like fondant.  Ain’t nobody got time for that.  I’d like to think we are on the same page here and both like easy ideas that have all of the cuteness and none of the kitchen drama.  You can whip up a batch of these for a class party in less than 10 minutes.  Boom.  I rest my case. The hardest part was keeping Craig (who is a chocolate freak) away from them.
